do it (home)

August 19 – November 21, 2020

About:

do it is the longest-running and most far-reaching exhibition to ever happen, giving new meaning to the concept of the “Exhibition in Progress.” do it takes written instructions by international artists as a point of departure, which are then freshly interpreted and locally enacted by members of our campus and community.

do it (home) is curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and produced by Independent Curators International (ICI)

Interdisciplinary Connections:

The museum has invited campus creators from beyond the visual arts (poetry, dance, music) to create short video recordings that document how the idea of instructions, scripts, and scores inform their respective art practices. The resulting video wall adds an interdisciplinary dialogue within the exhibition.

Exhibited Works:

These are the artists’ instructions; every week two of them will be enacted by local community members and appear on the wall of our gallery alongside the instructions – creating an unfolding exhibition-in-progress. Everyone is encouraged to participate online; simply render your own interpretation and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #doithome”
