Art Curious | So, who was Robert Rauschenberg?

Thursday, November 12 | 6:00 p.m.

About:

Curious about art history but not sure where to begin? Art Curious is a new program series at the Samek Art Museum for anyone interested in exploring art – no experience or prior knowledge required! It’s an open invitation to ask questions, see things differently, and discover the stories, ideas, and surprises behind art.

So, who was Robert Rauschenberg, and why does his art still matter? Join the Samek Art Museum and Professor Roger Rothman for an informal, bite-sized introduction to an artist who challenged the boundaries of what art could be. Through a few fascinating artworks and stories, we’ll explore how Rauschenberg blurred the lines between painting, sculpture, everyday objects, and popular culture while discovering some of the ideas that shaped modern art along the way. No art history background required; just bring your curiosity and enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and coffee-shop treats!

The talk will be hosted at World’s End Coffee Co. located at 425 Market Street, Lewisburg, PA.
