Richard Rinehart is Director of the Samek Art Museum at Bucknell University. He has served as Digital Media Director & Adjunct Curator at the UC Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive and as curator at New Langton Arts and for the San Jose Arts Commission. He juried for the Rockefeller Foundation, Rhizome.org, and others. Richard has taught courses on art and new media at UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, the San Francisco Art Institute, Bucknell, and elsewhere. He served on the boards of the Berkeley Center for New Media, New Langton Arts, and the Museum Computer Network. He lead the NEA-funded project, “Archiving the Avant-Garde”, to preserve digital art and has co-authored a book with Jon Ippolito for MIT Press on collecting and preserving media culture, “Re-Collection: Art, New Media, & Social Memory” https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/re-collection

Theresa Engelbrecht is the Registrar and Exhibition Manager at Bucknell University’s Samek Art Museum. She uses and advocates for collection management practices that increase access to and engagement with works of art while preserving them for the future. She loves making connections between art in the permanent collection and interdisciplinary scholarship across Bucknell’s campus and beyond. Her own research centers on collections and collecting, with particular emphasis on twentieth century prints and print collecting.

Tilton Widro is the Samek Art Museum’s Operations Coordinator and Preparator. Tilton has worked for various museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Albright-Knox Gallery, the National Academy Museum, and the Museum of Biblical Arts. Tilton holds a BFA from SUNY Buffalo, and a MFA from Pratt Institute.

Kala Brzezinski is the Public Programs and Outreach Manager for the Samek Art Museum at Bucknell University. She holds a B.A. in History from Auburn University and an M.A. in Museum Education from Tufts University. Kala has worked within the fields of archival management and museology since 2015. Originally from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, Kala began her career as an Archival Assistant for the Stewart Bell, Jr. Archive at Handley Library in Winchester, Virginia. Prior to her arrival at the Samek, she served as Assistant Director of the Museum of the White Mountains at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Throughout her career, Kala has served in various roles and across different museum disciplines including as a Curatorial Assistant for the Harvard University Herbaria and as Fulbright Scholar for Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin, Ireland.
Kala values the intersections between art, culture, science, history, and community within rural and campus spaces. She hopes her work at the Samek Art Museum will continue to foster and facilitate deep and meaningful dialogue extending throughout and beyond Bucknell University.
