The 28th Annual Student Exhibition: Little by Little

The 28th Annual Student Exhibition: Little by Little

April 13 to May 2, 2012

Samek Art Gallery, Bucknell University

Please drop by the Samek Art Gallery on the opening day of this 28th Annual Student Exhibition for a live performance in the gallery by Aaron Meyers beginning at 11 am and continuing through the afternoon.

Little by Little will feature the work of the Department of Art and Art History’s three Graduate Assistants, Anikke Myers, Jessie Horning, and Aaron Meyers. These artists will be presenting impressive bodies of recent work that, too, take form in a variety of media including performance and installation. The title here reflects all three artist’s individual preoccupations with incremental gestures. Taken from a longer quote,

“Memories are killing. So you must not think of certain things, of those that are dear to you, or rather you must think of them, for if you don’t there is the danger of finding them, in your mind, little by little”

from playwright Samuel Beckett’s The Expelled, this title also relates to ideas of memory present in the work of Myers and Horning and the dark humor found in Meyer’s work.
