Curatorial Text:

Prelinger’s “Lost Landscapes of San Francisco” is an eclectic montage of lost and rarely-seen film clips showing life, landscapes and labor in a vanished San Francisco as captured by amateurs, newsreel cameramen, and industrial filmmakers.

In addition to spotlighting open-source filmmaking, this screening accompanies the exhibition Slow Looking, presenting the visual and urban context of twentieth-century San Francisco where Stuart Coyne lived and gathered the art collection displayed in the next gallery.
