The Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University

The Samek Art Museum sent our Cupid and Apollo, 1512 -1514 by Pontormo, to the Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University last semester to be cleaned. NYU’s Conservation Center has done a detailed analysis of paintings in the Kress Collection and has provided crucial information for conservation and long-term preservation of Old Master works. With that information, we can extract knowledge from these masterpieces and ensure their survival for centuries to come.
