Calling all high school students in the area looking for a fun art-making experience this summer. We will be offering a completely free day-long workshop for teens at the Samek Art Museum. Come make art, find inspiration in our collection, and discover your artistic voice.
To preregister, please fill out this form.
The workshop will take place on July 31 from 10am-6pm, beginning at the Downtown Gallery (416 Market Street, Lewisburg PA) and ending at our Samek Gallery (3rd Floor, Elaine Langone Center, Bucknell University). Together, we will create 2D and 3D work inspired by the Samek Art Museum’s collections and special exhibitions, Warhol: Again, for the First Time and Summer Salon II, exploring the themes of self and identity. Workshop instructors are Kendra Douglas, Bucknell Art Department Graduate Assistant; and Greg Stuart, Samek Art Museum Public Programs & Outreach Manager. We will provide lunch for participants and a reception open to friends and family from 5pm-6pm.
The workshop is free, but space is limited to 15 applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis. After filling out the form above, we will let you know if you have been accepted, and will send additional permission slips and waivers. The workshop is open to incoming High School Sophomores through outgoing High School Seniors. You must have the signed permission of a parent or guardian to attend the workshop. Please email Greg Stuart at greg.stuart@bucknell.edu for more information.
