Wednesday, March 20th: 6-7pm @ The Samek, Jim Campbell Interdisciplinary Panel

ThresholdPanel

Join us in the Samek Art Gallery for an interdisciplinary panel discussion of the current exhibition, “At the Threshold” on Wednesday, March 20th at 6:00pm. The panel will feature Director and Chief Curator, Richard Rinehart as well as Bucknell faculty Maurice Aburdene of Electrical Engineering and Maria Balcells of Philosophy.

“At the Threshold” highlights selected works by pioneering new media artist, Jim Campbell. A trained electrical engineer, Campbell creates custom, large-scale electronic artworks that use the latest technology to address very human questions. The panel will present a thoughtful, interdisciplinary approach to thinking about how we, as viewers of the arts, approach contemporary works that apply new mediums. What tools or strategies might we take away to observe and interpret new genres of art?

A reception will follow immediately following the discussion. This event is free and open to the public. For more on “At the Threshold.”
